Saving $2-$3000 with a $200 Toothbrush: How and Why We will Continue to Use Emmi-Dent

The Story…

Picture in your mind our family… going back in time to the year 2009. We are in financial ‘free-fall’ with about Thirty-three million other Americans.

Now, to add to the distress, consider that dental care is reaaallly important to overall health. We had already spent thousands of dollars on our children’s teeth with braces.

When I

So, one day, I was listening to a description of a ground breaking tooth care device that doesn’t require that you brush your teeth. Although it looks like a toothbrush, it basically zaps the germs that cause plaque to build up, whitens your teeth while you use it, removes stains from your teeth, etc. etc. (you get it.)

Well, I was all ready to sign up when I saw the price tag – a whopping $200. Money wasn’t exactly growing on trees for this one. Still, I considered that the price, if it proves to be true, will be really helpful to our family.

So, I took the plunge and made the purchase. I was quite resistant and skeptical at first. When it arrived, I read through the directions and started using it. I described it to my wife and children and we proceeded to brush the way the instructions indicated we should. Don’t worry, we had also purchased a number of toothbrush heads as well, so it was all hygenic.

It was ok in the beginning; not brushing takes some getting used to.

But, what was amazing to me is how clean my mouth felt afterward.

Fast forward a few months to my dental checkup. I hadn’t been regulalry using the Emmi dent, and so I couldn’t really vouch for its effectiveness.

I was told though, by my dentist, that if we didn’t improve my gum health, we would need to consider more options.

I had previously been through a deep clean a while back. It did the trick for then, but now I needed something that I could apply personal skill and diligence to.

Most of the differences in life come through doing the dull and boring things remarkably consistently. It would be the case with the Emmi-dent tooth brush.

My scores of 5’s and 4’s – I wanted to decrease to 3’s and 2’s. And guess what? Six months later, I had achieved my goal.

Now, I already floss regularly, so that wasn’t the issue. For me, it was that I needed to increase my gum health, and the regular methods weren’t working.

So recently, we purchased three more emmi-dents. Although it for some odd reason causes you to salivate more, it continues to do the working we have grown to trust that it completes for us.

A confession- I do brush manually with one of my other toothbrushes as well- I have found that there is just something about the familiarity of the regular brushing that makes me feel that I am doing a good job. As well, it seems as though the emmi-dent doesn’t do a good job of scraping off accumulated junk after having eaten a really grainy-ish type of food. So, I supplement with the traditional.

Emmi-dent can’t do everything. But, I consider it to be my secret weapon when it comes to tooth care, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here’s the link if you would like to help us out at all: Emmi-dent
