These are the most common excuses given when someone does not want to exercise. Giving excuses shows that we need to have a more disciplined character. It means we have to take a look at our priorities.
Excuse #1 “It Uses Up My Time”
The truth is, it does use up your time. However, it helps you use your time in a very helpful way. Though good, you don’t have to exercise for an hour; you can get a good exercise from 10-30 minutes. Exercising is so good for your body.
Whenever you feel like saying this ask yourself, “What are my priorities?”
If you don’t have your priorities straight you’ll be waisting your time on electronics, movies, junk food, and idleness. You can use this time to exercise instead for at least 10 minutes. It’s not that long. You make time for the things that matter to you so if you think that life is valuable and precious, exercise.
Excuse #2 “I Don’t Have The Tools”
Although tools assist us and help increase our strength, a simple body exercise can likewise have effective results. You can also buy the tools you need, if you have certain limitations. Another option you have is learning simple exercises you can perform.
Sadly, not everybody can do a squat or a push up. If you can walk or raise your arms. At least you have a place to start. We have many posts of exercises people can do, even if they don’t have any tools.
Tools are easy to find for good prices, or around the home. Some tools you could use include: water/milk jugs, stairs, street, wall, stick, etc.
Excuse #3 “I Don’t Feel Like It”
This is probably the worst excuse of the three. We should take our feelings into consideration, but not be controlled by them. We must demonstrate self-control. Many times because of our sinful nature we desire to do the less important things first like scrolling through news articles, sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying a snack while watching.
What should we do when we don’t feel like doing it? Say no to ourselves and get after what we should be doing.
Do things at the proper time, get the right amount of everything.
But, please don’t be round yourself.
I hope that you have enjoyed reading this little post.
